October was about dreaming big, reaching out of what’s comfortable and safe and making things happen. That happened for me when I landed my first piece in the Wall Street Journal, which was the subject of one of my picks for top 10 WordCount posts of the month. Here’s the entire list:

  • Everything you need to know about word counts (but were too afraid to ask your editor)
  • 4 steps to using mind mapping for story ideas, blog topics
  • 10 ways to use a writer’s conference to market your work
  • Promote your writing business through your email signature
  • Dreams do come true, and one of mine did today
  • The dangers of getting too cozy with story subjects
  • Save yourself from getting duped by dishonest sources
  • Dear WordCount: What should I charge for writing blog posts?
  • Dear WordCount: How can I be more consistent about adding posts to my blog?
  • Dear WordCount: Can blogging help me write fiction?
