The 2013 WordCount Blogathon starts in three days — are you ready? Whether you’ve already started writing posts, or are still deciding whether to take the plunge, join us for the Blogathon kick-off chat on Twitter, today at 10 a.m. Pacific time/1 p.m. Eastern time. Use the hashtag #blog2013 to join the chat.
Your Blogathon Questions Answered
The Blogathon kick-off chat runs 60 minutes. We’ll do a quick round of introductions, then I’ll ask a few questions to get things started. Anyone participating in the chat can tweet an answer to any question.
Here are the pre-set questions:
- Q1: What’s your biggest concern about doing the 2013 Blogathon?
- Q2: What more do you want to know about blogging software or social media before the Blogathon starts?
- Q3: What goals do you have for the Blogathon?
If you’ve never participated in a Twitter chat before, it’s easier than you think. You need a Twitter account – which is free to set up. You use Twitter to join a chat, or a Twitter add-on such as TweetChat.

Ask Me Anything
We’ll save at least 30+ minutes for your questions. I’m calling this portion of the chat “Ask Me Anything” after the popular AMA sesssions on Reddit, which have featured everyone from Barack Obama and Bills Gates to South Korean rapper Psy to Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield. (Here’s a list of the most popular AMAs on Reddit.)
Get your Blogathon questions ready, and I’ll see you at the #blog2013 chat today at 10 a.m. Pacific time/1 p.m. Eastern time.
Just hearing about this annual blogging challenge? Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time to sign up for the Blogathon. Registration stays open through May 31.
See you at the chat.
