This month’s Twitter chat for writers kicks off the 2013 WordCount Blogathon — and it’s your opportunity to ask me anything about the annual blogging event.
Join us for the chat on Wednesday, May 29, 10 am Pacific time/1 p.m. Eastern time. Use the hashtag #blog2013 to join the chat.
Find Out More About the Blogathon
Still on the fence about committing to a month-long blogging challenge? Join the chat to find out more about what you can expect, how much time it takes, and more.
In fact, if you’re not sure whether you’re up for the challenge, I’d encourage you to tune in so you can meet some of the bloggers who have already signed up as well as get some of your questions answered.
If you’ve never participated in a Twitter chat before, don’t worry. It’s easier than you think. You need a Twitter account – which is free to set up. You use Twitter to join a chat, or a Twitter add-on such as TweetChat.
Read more here: How to join a Twitter chat.
The Blogathon kick-off chat runs 60 minutes. We’ll do a quick round of introductions, then I’ll ask a few questions to get things started. Anyone participating in the chat can tweet an answer to any question. Or if you’re still new to Twitter and not comfortable doing that yet, feel free to lurk (participate by reading other’s questions & answers without asking or answering any yourself).
Here are the pre-set questions:
- Q1: What’s your biggest concern about doing the 2013 Blogathon?
- Q2: What more do you want to know about blogging software or social media before the Blogathon starts?
- Q3: What goals do you have for the Blogathon?
AMA (Ask Me Anything)
We’ll save at least 30+ minutes for your questions. I’m calling this portion of the chat “Ask Me Anything” after the popular AMA sesssions on Reddit. If you know Reddit, you’ve probably heard of AMA, the free-form question and answer sessions the website has hosted with everyone from Barack Obama and Bills Gates to South Korean rapper Psy to Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield. (Here’s a list of the most popular AMAs on Reddit.)
Get those questions ready, and I’ll see you at the #blog2013 chat on Wednesday, May 29, at 10 a.m. Pacific time/1 p.m. Eastern time. Meanwhile, don’t forget to sign up for the Blogathon – registration stays open through May 31.

Michele, I signed up for the Blogathon but haven’t gotten the email in response. My email account may be acting up. do you know if you’ve gotten it, or do you have too many to check?
Thanks
