Blogathon haiku day: Ring of fire

Eclipse, May 20, 2012
Eclipse, May 20, 2012

It was cloudy here in Portland on Sunday evening during the annular eclipse, when the moon passed between earth and the sun to partially obscure the sun. We were out on the street at 6:30 p.m. PDT anyway and saw what there was to see. Unfortunately it wasn’t as clear as this picture, which came from Japan.

The eclipse inspired today’s post, though, which is a poem because today is Haiku Day in the annual blogathon.

Ring of Fire

Mist and clouds parting

Reveal shining sun eclipsed

By slow shadow moon

That means a lot coming from someone who wrote haiku every day for a year, thanks!

Wow, your haiku is so poetical…but I guess it’s supposed to be, right? Very nice.
