Even freelancers have to take a sick day sometimes

I am sick. Very sick. With some kind of super flu bug. So sick I actually postponed a phone interview I had scheduled for this morning. So sick I’m having trouble typing this without making mistakes. So sick this measly post is going to be it for me today. Because even freelancers have to take a sick day sometimes.

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. That sick day issue can be challenging…a few months ago I had a freelance piece due to a major newspaper that had space set aside for it, and I dragged myself from the bathroom floor to ask if they could put it off for a week, but they couldn’t. I wrote it anyway and am amazed I could put two words together, much less 1600.
Maybe midweek you might be up for a quick chat or email correspondence about blogging for writers…I’m writing an article for the ASJA (American Society of Journalists and Authors) newsletter. Couldn’t find an email for you so I figured I could reach you this way!
    Thanks,

Thanks everyone. I went to the doctor who told me I have some kind of viral infection and it may take up to 10 days to get better. Since today is day 5, I’m hoping it’s all downhill from here. Besides, I have too many projects due to be sick for much longer.

Jan, I’ll contact you via email.
