Michelle Vranizan Rafter is a reporter and blogger covering technology, workplace issues, business and the media.

Rafter is a regular contributor to Inc. magazine’s tech Website, IncTechnology.com, Conde Nast Portfolio.com, CBSinteractive’s MoneyWatch.com and Oregon Business and other national business and trade publications.

She’s also a contributing editor at Crain Communication’s award-winning HR industry magazine, Workforce Management, following recruiting, HR IT, social networking, benefits, training, outsourcing and workplace ethics.

Rafter has written for Reuters, the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, The Oregonian, The Industry Standard, Internet World, CNET and other business and trade publications. She was previously on staff at the Orange County Register, where she helped start the paper’s tech industry and personal technology coverage.

In December 2007, Rafter started WordCount: Freelancing in the Digital Age, a blog about freelancing and new media.

Rafter is a member of the Online News Association. She lives with her family in Portland, Oregon.
