Are they going to start paying us more?

I’m all for increasing my skills, but pitches take enough time as is. With word counts plummeting and pay-per-word unchanged since the 70s, I’m hoping publications are willing to pay extra for these time-consuming add-ons.

I think in a pitch you could include a snippet of video, or a single photo or a description of the a/v that you’d include in a finished piece to give the editor a taste of what you’re capable of doing. Then once you’ve got the assignment you could work out the particulars.
