    Michelle,
I’m happy to have found your site, and have been reading it for just over a month. Lots of great information, especially as I recently entered the world of blogging.

As one who has crossed to the ‘dark side” — from reporter to PR person — I agree completely with your post. PR folks do, indeed, have a reputation as flighty, no-nothings. After having sat on both sides of the desk, I understand the reporter who needs info quick and thorough. I find it refreshing to talk to reporters and writers who are clear, direct and professional.

My next mission: Educating clients about the value and role of PR personnel.

Thanks for the insight, and the affirmation of my role as a conduit of information.

Ditto on your entry. Bravo on your entry – wish PRs everywhere would check it out somehow (magically). I’ve saved this one. Especially the point about “take time to find the story” – as if we’re going to remember to write back with the link? and do not think we want to interview “you” rather than the real source.
Egads, I was glad to see this. Sometimes I think it’s just me. I don’t look down on PR. Like you know, I know three excellent ones…and am thankful for them!

    Michelle,

This is my first time reading your web site, and it’s going into my favourites right away.

As an aspiring PRO, I am taking your advice as a welcomed help, so I don’t drive the journalists mad from my day one. The template for stone etching is also getting ready.

Thank you for a great post!
