One response to “How to handle rewrites without wanting to kill yourself, or your editor”

Michelle, I hate rewrites, too. In fact, I often groan when I see that in the subject line of an email. Sometimes it’s a quick fix like adding another quote that didn’t make it into the original piece but rounds out the article. Other time it starts a painful back and forth process.

The thing that’s most frustrating for me is when an editor sits on an article for so long that it’s outdated and you have to do A LOT more research to get the article up to date in addition to clarifying whatever questions the editor has. That happened to me last year when an editor sat on my article for FOUR months. I’d all but given up on him!
